Step into an afternoon of timeless elegance!
We warmly invite you to a refined Sunday afternoon devoted to social dancing, music, and graceful movement.
Once a month, an exceptional private ballroom near the Parc du Cinquantenaire opens for an elegant gathering of waltz and social dance enthusiasts. With its high ceilings, historic parquet floors, and intimate atmosphere, the setting offers a rare opportunity to dance as such occasions were once meant to be enjoyed: unhurried, sociable, and beautifully framed. Easily reached by public transport, with parking nearby, it is a setting worthy of the finest occasions.
WALTZ & SOCIAL DANCE
Sunday 26 April 2026, 14:00 – 18:00
(5-minute walk from Merode metro stn)
1040 Etterbeek, Brussels
From 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the afternoon unfolds in a balanced rhythm of learning and dancing. The programme includes two guided sessions of 45 minutes each.
- The first session is dedicated to the elegant Viennese waltz, taught by Carolina and Christophe, creators of the opening dance choreography for the Wiener Ball in Brussels for over 20 years. Their particular style emphasises compact, efficient movement, enabling comfortable dancing on crowded floors at balls in Brussels. This offers a practical way to adapt to limited space, especially for ballroom dancers accustomed to larger travelling steps.
- After time to dance and practise freely, a second 45-minute session introduces a different social dance — such as polka, quadrille, or rock quatre-temps — selected to bring variety and seasonal character to each event.
Guests are kindly asked to dress in keeping with the dignity of the venue: elegant dresses or long skirts for ladies; jacket and tie (or bow tie) for gentlemen. To protect the historic parquet flooring, leather-soled dance shoes are required; fine stiletto heels cannot be accommodated.
Participation is €30 per person per Sunday. Once your registration and payment have been confirmed, the exact address of the residence will be communicated privately by email.
Whether you attend regularly or join us for the first time, this monthly gathering offers more than a dance: it is a moment to step out of the ordinary and into a shared tradition of elegance, music, and civilised pleasure. Partners and solo dancers are equally welcome.

P.S.
• Timeless Elegance: In an era where trends come and go, the Waltz remains a symbol of timeless elegance and sophistication. Mastering this classic dance opens the door to a world of grace and refinement, enriching your social interactions with an aura of charm and poise.
• Versatile Social Skill: Whether you’re attending a wedding, a party, or a formal ball, knowing how to dance the Waltz adds a touch of magic to any social occasion. Glide effortlessly across the dance floor, impressing friends and loved ones with your newfound skills and leaving a lasting impression wherever you go.
• Perfect Symmetry between Dancers: Among the ballroom dances commonly practiced today, the Viennese waltz is the only dance that moves quickly around the ballroom and which offers perfect symmetry between the steps of the leader and those of the follower… You will have the feeling of being one with each other! It is no coincidence that this dance is still a great symbol of love and romanticism today, as the cinema attests.
• Wide Variety of Music Styles: The Viennese waltz can be danced to music by Strauss and other similar composers as well as to many styles of modern music. What defines it is only a three-beat rhythm. As a result, you’re not locked into a single style of music, as is the case with other couple dances! Our sessions offer a delightful mix of music styles, ensuring every dance is a unique journey.
• Physical and Mental Well-being: Beyond its social benefits, dancing the Waltz offers a multitude of physical and mental health benefits. From improving cardiovascular fitness and coordination to reducing stress and boosting mood, the Waltz is not just a dance – it’s a holistic experience that nurtures both body and soul.
