Ballroom & Latin Dance Essentials
Saturday 30 May & 6 June 2026
13:00–15:00 • Brussels
Step onto the dance floor — no more sitting out
You know the moment.
The music changes… and suddenly you’re not sure what to dance.
Instead of stepping back or trying to improvise something that doesn’t quite fit, imagine recognising the music… and simply joining in.
That’s what these sessions are for.
Learn a new dance in just one session
Each Ballroom & Latin Dance Essentials session is designed to give you that first real feeling of a dance — in just two hours.
No long course. No pressure to be perfect.
Just enough to step onto the floor and enjoy the moment.
How the series unfolds
In March, we began with the Slow Foxtrot (Slowfox) — smooth, flowing, and effortlessly elegant.
In April came the Quickstep: fast, light, and joyful, often described as the feeling of floating across the floor.
The Third and Fourth Dances We Will Explore
Saturday 30 May — Latin Basics & Cha-Cha-Cha
We start with the foundations of Latin dancing — the way you move, the way you use the floor, the “engine” behind Latin movement.
The Cha-Cha-Cha brings those basics to life: playful, rhythmic, and full of energy.
Saturday 6 June — Rumba
Then we slow things down.
The Rumba uses those same underlying movements — but asks for more control, more subtlety, and more feeling… making it expressive, elegant, and just a little irresistible.
If you’re new to Latin dancing and would like to join the Rumba session, we recommend starting with the Latin Basics & Cha-Cha-Cha session first.
If you already have a solid foundation (or Cha-Cha-Cha experience), you’re welcome to join the Rumba directly.
And if you’re simply curious about the Cha-Cha-Cha, you’re very welcome to attend that session on its own.
Why these lessons work
In cooperation with Skylight Dance Club, we have developed a series of practical, guided sessions designed to help you learn the essential movements of new dances quickly.
The focus is not on memorising long routines or perfect technique.
It’s about recognising the music, feeling how the dance works, and having the confidence to step in when the moment comes.
What you’ll take with you
- The ability to recognise different dance styles when the music changes
- A few essential movements that let you join in with confidence
- The feeling of being part of the dance floor — rather than watching from the side
Who these sessions are for
These sessions are ideal if you:
- enjoy balls, social dancing, or formal events
- want to feel more confident when the music changes
- have some dance experience (any style), but don’t need anything advanced
You’re also very welcome if you’re simply curious and want to try something new.
Partners and individual participants are both welcome.
